![]() ![]() The Lunar New Year Street Party is an annual community event featuring many exhibitors and entertainers from a wide variety of Asian cultural groups, all coming together at South Australia's iconic cultural venue the Chinatown Adelaide Precinct, to showcase their traditions through art and flavours. Sat 20 Feb 11:30 am - 9:30 pm, Chinatown Precinct Gouger Street Experience the beauty of the brushstroke as our artists compose the characters of Chinese calligraphy with your Chinese name, take the opportunity to learn the unique folk art of Chinese paper cutting, or be introduced to the ancient skill of Chinese knotting. Take the family on a whirlwind exploration of Chinese culture in Adelaide. We will be presenting 3 workshops for you to immerse yourself in traditional Chinese culture and art. Sat 13 Feb 2:00pm - 4:00 pm, Dunstan Playhouse Foyer A note also our Chinese Conversation Concern will resume in March, held on campus, Wednesday's and Friday's, 4-5 pm. A reminder also to those of you interested in taking our HSK courses, expressions of interest will be close this week so please complete the form below to help shape our program. Tomorrow we will also be holding cultural workshops together with the Adelaide Festival centre, we invite you and your family to attend this free event. We were thrilled to be involved in such a fantastic event which was filled with amazing performances like traditional music, martial arts and lion dance, as well as workshops, and delicious food. Yesterday the university held a fabulous Lunar New Year fair to celebrate and create a place where international students and those who can't be with family could still enjoy the festivities. We would firstly like to wish all those who are celebrating the Lunar New Year a happy, safe and prosperous year of the Ox.
